How we transformed audio-format Premier League news and updates into an online platform for fans.

Sport Social is the latest website designed and developed by Fat Heads. It is an exciting new online experience that allows football fans to absorb audio content via the web.

Communicorp UK based in Manchester approached us to provide web design and development services.

The new venture, Sport Social, required a website that would deliver audio content in a simple and digestible way. The site needed to entice and engage the target audience of football fans, specifically Premier League clubs. A 3rd party system would deliver audio content in real-time to the site. The audio content would then generate news articles to display on the website. News articles can be categorised by football competition, club, injuries and transfers. Longer feature articles would support the individual audio news articles to create more content.

Fat Heads have delivered a vibrant and fully-functioning site. The web design took its lead from the Sport Social brand and colour-scheme. Using lots of football imagery around the site would appeal to supporters. Fat Heads designed individual football club crests to compliment the brand. Each club has its own page displaying relevant news and feature artcles.

We created a number of bespoke adverts to place around the site to promote the Football Social Daily podcast and content for smart speakers.

An embedded media player plays the individual news audio clips. The embedded media player uses external feeds to deliver multiple audio updates in a playlist. The playlists appear on the home page and on the individual club pages.

A content management system allows Communicorp UK to be fully self-sufficient in administrating and updating the website.
