We combined forces with Andy Mitten from UWS to create a stunning logo in support of their charity bike ride from Manchester to Barcelona.
We had the privilege of teaming up with Andy Mitten from United We Stand (UWS) to design a striking logo in support of a heartfelt charity bike ride from Manchester to Barcelona. This wasn’t just any ride—it was a 2,000 km journey fuelled by love, determination, and a mission to make a difference.
In June, a group of brothers, including Andy Mitten—a renowned football journalist and editor of the Manchester United fanzine United We Stand—embarked on this incredible challenge to honor the memory of Charlie Mitten. Their goal? To raise funds for St Ann’s Hospice, a cause close to their hearts. When Andy approached us at Fat Heads, we were more than happy to donate our time and creativity to design the fundraising logo, contributing in our own way to this meaningful cause.
The inspiration behind the ride was deeply personal. After reaching out to St Ann’s, Andy learned that the hospice urgently needed a new ambulance—an essential service with a hefty price tag of £40,000. Despite the daunting target, the brothers committed eight months to planning and training for the ride, determined to raise as much as possible.
The cause hit even closer to home when, just weeks before their father passed away, there wasn’t an ambulance available to transport him from the hospital back home. After a seven-hour wait, Andy’s brother Sam had to step in and drive him himself—a powerful reminder of the urgent need for better hospice transport services.
Thanks to overwhelming support, generous sponsors, and the brothers’ unwavering dedication, they didn’t just meet their fundraising goal—they smashed it. The final total? An incredible £47,915.
At Fat Heads, we’re honoured to have played a small part in this inspiring journey. Supporting a cause that will positively impact countless lives is something we’re deeply proud of.
