From industrial steel to luxury architecture: discover how Fat Heads Creative Studio built a high-performance digital showroom for Container Converter, our second major project for the group.

Building the Future of Mobile Spaces

At Fat Heads Creative Studio, we thrive on building long-term partnerships with brands that push the boundaries of their industries. Following our successful collaboration with Manchester-based The Events Structure, a leading provider of bespoke temporary event environments, we were thrilled to be invited back to lead the digital strategy for their latest venture: Container Converter.

A Foundation of Trust

The relationship between Fat Heads and the parent company provided a unique advantage. Having already designed and developed the main Events Structure website, we possessed a deep understanding of their operational DNA, their commitment to high-end engineering, and their aesthetic preferences.

While The Events Structure focuses on short-term activations and experiential marketing, Container Converter was born to meet a different market demand: permanent, high-spec shipping container conversions. Whether it’s a sophisticated garden office, a trendy retail pop-up, or a functional catering hub, the goal was to showcase how raw steel can be transformed into luxury architecture.

The Challenge: Balancing Utility with Design

The primary objective for The Container Converter was to create a digital showroom that felt both industrial and premium. We needed to bridge the gap between “construction” and “creativity.”

From a UI/UX perspective, the challenge was to present a vast array of technical options—sizes, cladding, insulation, and electrification—without overwhelming the user. We wanted the visitor to feel the “bespoke” nature of the service from the moment they landed on the homepage.

Design Strategy: Industrial Chic

We opted for a clean, minimalist design language that mirrors the modular nature of the containers themselves. High-quality imagery was placed at the forefront, allowing the craftsmanship of the physical builds to do the talking. We utilised a bold, masculine colour palette with sharp typography to echo the strength of the materials, while incorporating smooth transitions and intuitive navigation to ensure a sophisticated user experience.

Development: Performance and Conversion

Behind the scenes, the development focused on speed and lead generation. Given the highly visual nature of the site, we implemented advanced image optimisation and lazy-loading techniques to ensure lightning-fast performance across all devices.

Key features of the build included:

  • Segmented Project Galleries: Allowing users to filter by “Retail,” “Catering,” or “Office” to find immediate inspiration relevant to their needs.
  • Deep SEO Integration: We built the site’s architecture to rank for high-intent keywords in the container modification space, ensuring Container Converter captured the market from day one.
  • Dynamic Lead Capture: We integrated streamlined inquiry forms that make it easy for potential clients to request quotes for custom specifications.

The Result

The launch of The Container Converter represents a seamless expansion of the brand’s digital footprint. By maintaining a design synergy with the parent company while carving out a unique identity for the conversion arm, we’ve helped create a platform that is as robust and versatile as the containers themselves.

At Fat Heads, there is no greater compliment than a returning client. Working with the team behind The Events Structure once again has been a masterclass in collaboration, and we can’t wait to see the incredible spaces that Container Converter brings to life.
